CPC's Wellness Campaign -- in support of the Agency's Wellness & Recovery Transformation -- is off to a great start thanks to the efforts of our staff, the Eatontown Lions Club and Cub Scout Pack 242.   [Donation Locations]

Staff donations -- along with those from the Cub Scouts and Eatontown Lions Club -- were made into 55 Wellness Bags on June 16. The Webelos 1 Cub Scouts of Middletown Pact 242 not only volunteered to assemble the bags, they donated $100 to purchase 25 sets of shampoo, soap, band aids, toothpaste, washcloths and deodorant. These boys are learning the value of volunteerism at a young age.

This year-long collection of everyday personal hygiene items -- such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, laundry detergent, dental floss, hand sanitizer -- will continue with on-going collections within CPC. "This is an evolving campaign that grows with each new group, church or business that wants to get involved," noted Tracy Ilvento, CPC's Public Relations Coordinator.

"This simple collection is as easy way for those outside of our Agency to learn about CPC and help others in need," explained Tracy Ilvento, CPC's Public Relations Coordinator. "More importantly, these items are helping individuals living with a serious mental illness take better care of themselves."

CPC Behavioral Healthcare is actively fostering consumer wellness by promoting health and preventing illness. This new programming can have a significant impact on the longevity of individuals. Studies show that the life expectancy for individuals with mental illnesses is about 25 years less than the general population due to treatable medical conditions related to smoking, obesity, substance abuse, and inadequate access to medical care.
