CPC Behavioral Healthcare offers an extensive internship program to both undergraduate and graduate students. The program accepts 10-15 interns on an annual basis; availability is year-round.
Candidates may be BA, BSW, MA, MS, and MWS students from schools in New Jersey and New York.
All CPC interns receive:
- Active experience on the mental health field.
- Both group and individual supervision.
- Free attendance at Peter M. Bry Clinical Training Seminar.
- Access to mental health professionals including psychiatrists.
- Attendance at staff meetings.
- Bi-monthly training sessions on a variety of social work topics.
- Flexible hours based on each school’s internship criteria.
- CPC’s Internship Training Program features industry professionals who address a variety of topics including: Current Trends in Behavioral Healthcare, DSM, CBT, Mental Status, Outcomes, Performance Improvement, Meds for Substance Abusers, Mobile Response; Safety Planning and Risk Assessment, Children’s Services and Case Management, Stigma, Domestic Violence, Cultural Diversity, MET, Recovery, EAP; Stress Management and Brief Treatment.
For the 2009-2010 school year, CPC has open placements for both undergraduate and graduate students in many of CPC’s programs and locations:
Outpatient Mental Health (Freehold, Red Bank):
- Individual, family, group therapy
- Psychiatric care
- Children, adolescents, adults, geriatrics
- *available to 2nd year MSW/ Advanced placement students
Addiction Recovery Services (Red Bank):
- Individual, family, Intensive Outpatient Programs
- Psychiatric care
- Adolescents, adults, geriatrics

Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (Red Bank):
- 24 hour/day crisis intervention
- Linkage to intensive community support services
- Children, adolescents
- *available to Master's level students
Children’s Partial Care (Red Bank):
- Partial Care and Weekend Respite Programs
- Psychiatric care
- Individual, family, group therapy
- Transportation
- Children
- *available to undergrads and Master's level students
Adult Partial Care (Aberdeen):
- Partial Care Program
- Acute Unit
- Adults

Project Act (Freehold): Individual, group therapy (in YDC) Retention Evaluations Adolescents *available to Master's level students
Case Management (Red Bank, Freehold):
- Chart reviews
- Meeting with clients as needed
- Children, adolescents, adults, geriatrics
